The De Grey Rooms, St. Leonard’s Place, York

A beautiful example of late Victorian architecture, the De Grey Rooms were built in 1841 and have been witness to many a glamorous ball. Named after Thomas Philip 2nd Earl De Grey, Colonel of The Yorkshire Hussars regiment, the building is still in use today as a grand venue for events and balls.

There are good rail and road connections from all major cities into York (London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, Birmingham etc.) — details on the City page. Taxis are available from the station or it's a 15 minute walk to the De Grey Rooms.

The De Grey Rooms are part of the York Theatre Royal and are to the left of the main building.
